"Sir- the enemy is advancing to our main testing facility, We are holding them off as best as we can but it doesn't look like we can do so for much longer. What should we do?"

"We can't let them use our research against us. We have to destroy them, all of them, then burn down the lab.
Dammit, and we were so close to having the perfect biological weapon."

"B-But SIR! None of the current prototypes even WORK! They've shown no signs of responding to any of our tests. Th-They're virtually harmless. Can we not just just order them through the escape route, or even just a few of them?"

"This is no time for sympathy soldier! Do you think that if they worked I'd be giving you orders to destroy them? Their DNA information is invaluable. If they managed to capture any of our test subjects they could replicate and alter our data.
Taking any of them with us would just hold us back- and if we were to die with one in our possession we'd be giving those bastards a massive advantage.
Now take your men and get rid of this evidence. Those are ORDERS. Do it now."

"Yessir"

"Please... please don't find me,"
she thought, shivering as she watched.

She was hiding behind a testing station, large barrels blocked vision to her body but she could make out the horror that was unfolding before her.

The creatures that she knew as her superiors from birth were vaporizing the ones that looked like her- the ones that were her friends.
All these years of servitude, and her kind was nothing but animals to them.
They had been tortured and forced into labor. Pushed around, stepped on, shown no mercy. And now they were all being disposed of like garbage.

"What a miserable existence," she thought.

But there was nothing she could do.
She was too afraid.
She could only watch.
And she knew in the back of her mind, she wouldn't be safe there for much longer.

"I think I heard something over there!"

This was it. They were coming for her. She could feel her heart pounding faster and faster and-

Darkness...

"Am I dead?" She thought as she started to regain consciousness.


No.


"What-what was that? What was that language? How did I understand it?"

Something had responded to her- inside of her head.


"Wh-who are you? What's going on? Why can't I feel my body- I don't understand..."


I'm the part of you that you don't want to see. The part that is going to save you.


"What? But- Where did you come from, and h-how are you controlling my body?"


"There she is, behind those supplies!"

"Zap her!"
